Tour of Mediterranean Stage 3 – 110km

Todays stage was again altered due to the weather, after a lot of snow hit overnight. The original stage was meant to finish with 2 laps of a 10km flat circuit, which we ended up doing 11 laps with a total of 110km.

As is with most flat circuit racing, the pace was on from the gun. Our team mate from GreenEdge, Michael Albasini, managed to get in the breakaway for the day. Once again the break was not given much leeway due to the fast nature of the course.

It was to be another bunch sprint with Michel Kreder from Garmin Baracuda taking his second stage win in a row.

Tomorrow’s stage is supposed to finish up the famous Mont Faron, but snow is once again predicted overnight so we will see in the morning if we race up the climb or not.

One day to go!
